Two arrows of opalwood, black as a winter night, with bands of mint and yellow running through them. This stone began as a tree, buried long ago, its wood slowly replaced by opal until the grain turned to light. The back of each setting is left open, so when the sun sits behind you, the color glows straight through the stone.
Each point is capped with a polished sterling silver triangle, lined with tiny grains of silver placed one by one by hand. The shape is sharp and direct. It points one way.
Opalized wood is said to hold the energy of transformation and renewed vitality, a stone for anyone who has changed slowly and completely. Wear these on a bright Southeast Alaska morning when the light comes in low across the water, or anywhere you have decided to be seen.
