In the 1960s and 70s, Alaskan beach sand was smelted for its gold content, and the slag left behind became something unexpected: a gold-infused glass with a rich, saturated red that couldn’t be replicated. Rosarita is no longer produced—modern refining methods extract nearly all the gold, leaving only unremarkable clear slag. What remains from those earlier decades is all there will ever be.

Hearthstone earns its name. These stones carry a deep, even red with the saturated warmth of wine held up to firelight—rich, smooth, and impossibly inviting.
